Traffic will soon be running more smoothly at a busy crossroads in Lynchburg, VA. Branch Civil is providing construction management for a $10.8M Design-Build Project that involves the widening of Greenview Drive from two lanes to four lanes and adding separate left and right turn lanes in each direction where Greenview Drive intersects with Leesville Road.
The Greenview Drive Intersection Improvement Project is designed to increase capacity in the growing city and to improve sight distances on Greenview Drive and Airport Road by raising the grades on each side of the intersection of Leesville Road.
The project will also enhance travel for non-motorists with new sidewalks and shared-use paths being constructed on Greenview Drive. The project also includes signal upgrades at Leesville Road, along with improved roadway lighting and landscaping.
Branch Civil and its partners worked to minimize disruptions and potential road closure periods by widening Leesville Road with temporary pavement to maintain traffic flow on through and turn lanes during construction.
