Branch Civil provided site preparation services for the Centerpoint Intermodal Center in Suffolk, VA. The facility is a 900-acre logistics center for intermodal containers that travel in and out of the region by rail, ship, and truck.

Branch Civil moved 67,000 cubic yards of material to bring road and parking areas to subgrade, constructed a 307,000 square foot building pad, and completed storm drain installation and pond excavation on the industrially zoned site.

The Intermodal Center is conveniently located to the Port of Virginia, the deepest shipping port on the east coast.  Its benefits to the community go further than simply moving goods efficiently.  The Center is also home to five other enterprises, including a Peet’s Coffee roastery, further reinforcing Suffolk’s proud reputation as the “Caffeine Capital of the United States.”
